SUSTAINABILITY

At Ingliston Country Club and Hotel we have made it our mission to run our business as ethically and environmentally conscious as possible, and we have taken steps to ensure our footprint on the planet is reduced.

Vehicle Charging Points are available on site for use of Ingliston Customers

We have the largest single footprint of Solar Panels in Scotland generating 70% of the electrical energy we use each day, with plans in the pipeline to add another 16 panels in the next 12 months.

We have 3 polytunnels which are each 30 meters long, where we grow all the flowers and plants throughout the estate. We also grow many of our Herbs and Vegetables used in our award winning Palomino’s restaurant.

We use 100% recycled paper and recycled pencils.

We use suppliers that only have a Green Eco Carbon Footprint programme.

We have already started a program to change all vehicles used throughout the estate to electrical buggies, road sweeper, lawnmowers, with plans over the next 12 months to change our pickup trucks to hybrid.

Our Hotel and Lodges lights are powered by solar energy and have timers and sensors to turn off when the rooms are not is use. We use led lighting throughout and we converse water using filtration systems, and encourage our hotel and lodge guests to reuse towels.

We have plans to be even more self sufficient with our approach to laundry where solar power and reduced water will be used to reduce waste, energy and be 100% carbon neutral.

We have just completed a digital print program to reduce power, paper, toner on all our printers and photocopiers, and we have adopted a 100% recycled paper, pin codes to reduce wasted printing and we are moving towards a 60% paperless environment within the next 2 years.

Our cleaning products are Eco-Friendly and use reusable bottles or biodegradable packaging.

Our new upgraded IT comms rooms has reduced our energy used by 80% by upgrading to low energy switches which use less power, generate less heat so the Comms room uses less air-conditioning, and partial power is generated from our solar panels.
